Community Workshops

As an ethnic community-based organization, ORIS is ideally positioned to understand our refugee clients’ needs. Our Outreach Coordinators work with clients to identify relevant and timely issues and concerns within their communities, and deliver participatory, educational workshops in order to address them. Past workshop topics have included: the process for becoming a U.S. citizen; the purpose and proper use of social security numbers; and financial literacy skill-building. Additional workshops have been conducted in partnership with outside institutions, covering topics such as the risks of lead poisoning, with a speaker from the NH Department of Health, and domestic violence awareness, with a speaker from the Manchester Police Department.

If you are a trainer wishing to offer a workshop or skill-based training to ORIS’s clients, please contact the office at (603) 296-0443.
